The Source of All Truth - Week 68

So we have been visiting a less active woman named Norma. She is awesome! On Monday night we taught her about the Restoration of the gospel and she loved it. She could definitely feel the spirit. We committed her to pray about whether what we taught her is true or not and she said she would. We went back on Friday night and talked with her about the priesthood authority. We were able to talk with her about whether she had prayed or not and she told us that she has been praying, but is not quite sure yet what her answer is. She has been going to a few different churches in her life, so she feels really confused on what is right.

Whenever I study about the Great Apostasy, I always think about how confusing that time must have been in the world, to have SO many voices saying so many different things and so many different beliefs. And then I think about what our world is like today and realize it is just as crazy, but we have one important thing that was missing during the great apostasy; the truth. I am so grateful to know what our Heavenly Fathers wants for us so that when the voices of the world crowd around and make things confusing, I can go back to the source of all truth.

This week our relief society had a meeting, well, more like a get together haha. It was a really great experience. Almost all of the Hermanas in our branch were there. We spent the time talking about how we can help everyone to feel more invited, how we can all come together and be more tight knit as a family. We did a lot of fun activities to get to know one another and by the end of it, I could feel the amistad for sure! It was so incredible to see how in just minutes, walls came down, and everyone was able to get to know one another, and to just love! I loved it!

We started a new thing in our district that has been incredibly powerful for the work! It's called "Power Hour". Everyday at 2pm we get together as a district, go to someones proselyting area, and spend an hour "blitzing" which is just when we all go knocking doors, or talking to people in the street. It has been so much fun and actually really successful! All missionaries know that knocking doors is not the most desirable nor successful way to find new people to teach. But when you know that just a few streets down, there are other missionaries doing the exact same thing you are, it makes it a lot more fun. On Thursday it was time to knock in our area. So Hermana Garcia and I chose an area and we all went. As we were knocking, we actually had quite a bit of success. We were able to talk to a lot of people and find some that are interested to learn more. At the end we met a woman named Virginia and she let us into her house and we talked for about 25 minutes about the atonement. It was awesome! When we met back up with the elders, they told us that they had had incredible success! Between all of us, we found 13 people that are interested in learning more! WOOHOO! So this week should be FULL of miracles as we go back and meet all those people!

Well, it has been such a great week! Lots of learning and growing as usual. We have a  REALLY full week planned so be ready for a mind blowing update haha.

I love you all and hope that you have a great last week of February 2015! Make the most of it!

Love,
Hermana Lundquist
