Highlights!
This Tuesday we went to Thatcher for Zone Conference and were able to watch meet the Mormons. It was incredible! I loved it so much. Each person's story was so incredible different but they all overcame a challenge and were able to let the gospel bring them closer to family, friends, etc. I strongly encourage everyone to find the closest place that it is playing and see it. Whether or not you are a Latter Day Saint, it is so uplifting and could answer some questions you might always have had. My personal favorite story was the Humanitarian. He was able to show us how even though we may be a certain religion, we don't have to completely change our culture for it. I also liked the story of the Missionary mom (obviously haha). I could go on and on. It was amazing.
We also had Stake Conference this week and President and Sister Passey came up to speak. Sister Passey came out to a few lessons with us before and it was so good! She is so spiritually lead in everything she says. You can tell that she doesn't say anything that she didn't feel prompted to say. We taught a lesson about the prodigal son to one of the members of the YSA branch and I think I learned more out of it than anyone. I studied out the story of the second son through Jesus the Christ and all of the footnotes in the Luke version. The main message I took away from it is that we need to make sure we are not forgetting the joy of others. The son had worked hard to help his father and do all that he was supposed to. But when someone got recognition for something he didn't think was worthy, the green eyed jealousy monster came out. We need to make sure that we are always happy for the joy of others, whether we think they deserve it or not. I have a lot of work to do haha.
The theme for Stake Conference was "Come and see". The speakers all talked about missionary work, family history, technology, temple work, etc. It was such a spiritual feast. The temple president and his wife spoke about how we need to use the temple more, and I am just so excited for the day that I can go to the temple anytime I want. What a blessing it is to have a place we can go and learn new things each time. The temple president's wife said that no matter how many times you go, you will never stop learning. Incredible.
On Sunday we found a new YSA girl to teach. Her name is Mari and she is great! She has a few friends in the branch and has been coming to activities for a while. We were finally able to sit down with her and get to know her life story. She has gone through so much but has such a strong testimony of our relationship with out Heavenly Father and the potential we have as his children. We love her.
Well, sorry for the quick summary. We are always go go go, sometimes it is hard to remember everything that happened.
This is going to be a really busy week as well, but I am so excited for it! We are carving pumpkins today for p-day and I'm stoked! First time in a year! whoop!
Well, have a great week! Know that I love you all and that you are incredibly important. Everyone is precious in the eyes of God.
Love,
