This was a really good week! - Week 50

We have been so incredibly busy, filling all our time with incredible activities and it has just been... well... incredible!

So to start off, I have to share a miracle. One thing that has been hard on my mission is knocking. When it comes to knocking on peoples doors to share the gospel with them, I have to admit, I am not the most faith filled. I have never seen much success come from it personally, but I have heard so many beautiful stories of people finding the gospel by missionaries knocking on their door. On Tuesday we were trying to contact some people that we had previously met. We were knocking on some other doors in the neighborhood and just were not having success. I was getting pretty bummed. We came to the last house we were going to knock before we had to head to another appointment. We both looked at the house and I just wanted to say "They will probably reject us too" but I have been working on seeing the potential in every opportunity, so we knocked on the door. A 30 year old guy named Robert came to the door and we started a conversation with him about the antlers he had hanging up outside. We got to know him a little bit and then he asked us what were were doing. We told him that we are missionaries from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and that we share a message about Jesus Christ. He got really excited and started telling us about how he had arrived in Silver City, how he had become christian, and most incredibly, how he had prayed the night before for God to show him a sign and he knew that we were an answer to that prayer. He invited us to come in and share a message but sadly there was no one else in the house so we couldn't go in (missionary rule: there must always be at least one other person in the house and we have to have uneven number of males and females) so we scheduled another time to go by and visit him. We have had two lessons since then and he is really getting excited. We taught the plan of Salvation to him and could tell that he was really able to feel the spirit. I love teaching the Plan of Salvation. It always rings familiar in every one's heart, because we have all heard it! It is just a matter of remembering haha. So that was definitely a tender mercy from the Lord for me. I saw how just giving an inkling of faith, can really bring blessings. Imagine what more than an inkling of faith can do haha!
We have been teaching a few younger kids and they are progressing really well! Two of them will actually be getting baptized in November. Eulises and Melitza! We are so excited for both of them and for how they will be able to learn the Gospel of Jesus Christ from a young age and apply it as they grow and have different experiences in the world.

We also visited a member of the group who has cancer. Her name is Hermana Sosa and she is awesome! She was talking about how even though she has cancer and it is rough at times, she is a "cancer ninja" and she can fight it off! It is so great to see people going through hard trials, but can still remain positive and strong. I just love the healing effect the gospel brings, whether it is physical or spiritual.

What the say what to say, I am not exactly sure how to summarize down the entire week into a few paragraphs! We have just been so incredibly blessed by Heavenly Father. There are so many members willing to help us with the work, coming out to lessons with us, inviting their friends to church activities, feeding us dinner, making sure we always have a ride. I feel so humble to see how Heavenly Father works so hard to make sure all of us have what we need.

I love y'all so much and am so grateful for all that you do for me. You are always in my heart and I am so glad to have such supportive friends and family!

Have a good week and remember who precious you are(:

Love,
Hermana Lundquist

PS: today for p-day we went to a wolf sanctuary. It was way cool. Wolves are seriously one of my new favorite animals. Did you know that they mate for life? Eternal marriage at it's finest haha!
