Wow, what a busy week! - Week 45

Every single day Hermana Aleman and I sat down to plan at night and we were just exhausted!

Monday we hung out with the sisters and Sister Barton's mom sent her some really cool face mask stuff so we had some spa time. It was a nice break haha and my face felt baby's butt soft after!

So on Tuesday we had a relief society activity where one of the Hermana's taught us how to cut hair. I am not sure I really got much out of it because we just kept laughing and laughing! Hermana Larson (who was teaching) decided that she was going to be the practice doll and each of us had to come and cut some of her hair. It was SCARY! I was terrified that i was going to cut a huge chunk off, but I am pretty sure angels guided my hands, because I didn't haha. It was so much fun though. The women in our branch are incredible! Half of them don't understand Spanish and half don't understand English, but they just get along so well and are so loving and kind!

On Wednesday we had zone meeting and it was incredible! Our zone leaders are such great teachers. They talked a lot about goals; what entitles a good goal, how to track them, how to set them etc., etc. I have been really working on some goals I set this transfer, and with 2 weeks left, there are a few I still need to work on. So that meeting was great. President Passey also set a new goal for our mission. So the most baptisms our mission has ever had in a month was 74. President Passey made that the goal for this month! Our "standard of excellence" for each month is 50 baptisms. I am so excited for the changes he is making here. We have already seen the mission change leaps and bounds since he has gotten here. His "greenie fire" is exactly was we need at this point in time. I am so excited to see how our mission keeps growing and progressing as we strive to find those 74 people this month that are ready to make a change in their lives.

On Thursday we were able to go to the temple. My oh my it was such a great day! We hadn't gone in 5 months and I was dying without it! The temple is such an incredible place. A safe haven in this crazy world. It was so nice to just sit there and think. I thought a lot about this area that I have been in and the changes that I have seen here. I also thought about the next 7 months and all the changes and miracles that I will be blessed to see. I am so grateful that we get to go to the temple, even if it is only ever 4 months. It is such a blessing to be able to sit in the house of the Lord and just ponder on life and feel the love and the spirit.

On Friday we went to visit one of our investigators named Stella. She is a cute older woman who lives alone. When we got there she was packing because she is going to visit her daughter in Las Cruces for the next couple weeks. We didn't have a ton of time, so we sang Come unto Jesus and it was incredible. The power that hymns bring is amazing! She was so touched and so were we. After, we went to dinner with the Verdugo family and they made homemade Alfredo. Oh boy... so good. Then after dinner, Jordan brought in a surprise...  SNAKE!  A stinking snake. Oh my gosh I was out of that room so fast. I just ran straight to the bathroom and stayed in their until the snake was back outside. Maybe I should get over that fear? Oh well there is plenty of time for that.

So we have had a hard time finding new people to teach this week, but we have worked really hard on being obedient and doing all we can to see miracles. We were blessed with a ton of referrals! We have been able to contact them all and have quite a few people to visit this week! Can't wait to see what happens!

Well I love ya'll so much! Hope all is well and have a good week!

Love,
Hermana Lundquist
