I sleep talked in Spanish for the first time! Soy Mexicana!!!! - Week 39

Hey yall! Hope it was a good week.

So we had a few really cool experiences this week. On Wednesday we had district meeting on Mount Graham. It was about an hour drive to the top and about 30 degrees cooler! haha It was beautiful though, I felt right at home in all the greenery and trees(: So we had a training about how we could better use the Book of Mormon in our mission. So we had about 30 minutes to all branch off (as companionship's still) and just go someone nearby in the woods and pray and read the scriptures. It was awesome. It was just so quiet and peaceful. I sat and pondered on how the Book of Mormon has made a change on people i have met recently. For Johnny W, it helped him to know that Heavenly Father loves him. For Sean, it helped him to understand the power we can receive from the words of God. For Jeff, it helps him to find peace when he is having a hard time. For Shally, she knows that we are representatives of Christ because we always have it with us. Shally was talking with us the other day about how there are all these people who have weapons of mass destruction and they think that they are the strongest of all. But then you see us and we just have a book, when in reality, that single book is the strongest weapon anyone could have. It was incredible to feel the spirit that came from her and she bore her testimony of the Book of Mormon. After we had that time to ponder, we all got back together and shared our thoughts. I love hearing all the things other missionaries have experienced because it helps you to look at things from all angles. I just love being in a place where the missionary force is so strong and we are always working together. I challenge yall this week to take some time and just ponder the blessings you have seen in your life from the Book of Mormon. It may be that you received an answer that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is true by reading it. It may be that your parents or grandparents or even great grandparents converted to the gospel and you were able to be born in the church. It may just be that it brings you peace from reading it. Whatever the answer may be, never forget those blessings we can receive, that power we can have just by reading it. It is so easy to take it for granted.

Another cool story, so we went to have dinner with the Francisco family this week. We had heard that they have some really cool pet turtles so obviously we asked about them when we got there. So Hermana Francisco took us to the back yard and low and behold, this huge tortoise just comes lumbering up out of nowhere! They had a giant tortoise as a pet! I guess a few years ago, their neighbors called and told them that a giant tortoise was walking down the road in their direction. They went out to see it and it just followed them around so they kept it! She is so cute! She really does just follow you around! She also likes taking baths and loves melon haha. How many times can you say you just walked up and patted a giant tortoise?

Well I love yall so much! This is going to be an incredible week! Johnny W is getting baptized this Saturday at 11am. And Jeff and Shally are getting married Saturday night at 6pm. We are so stoked for all the changes people are making because they know that the gospel is true. I am so grateful to have it in my life and to be considered worthy by my Heavenly Father and his son, Jesus Christ, to be a representative for them. I know that this gospel is life changing and that if we follow the principles, we will have eternal happiness and joy. Don't ever forget that you are a child of God and have more potential that you could ever imagine!

Have a good week!

Love,
Hermana Lundquist
