Love You All!! - Week 11

Hello everyone!

Sorry this is going to be a short one, but I totally didn't keep an eye on the time!
First things first, this week was looooooong! Stuffed full! So busy!

1.) Elder Holland: We were all so stoked! It came to the day before, and Hermana Hale and I were in the apartment doing weekly planning. Our phone went off and we saw it was a text from President Killpack that started with "Unfortunately...". Well, something came up for Elder Holland and he wasn't able to make it to our meeting:( We were all so bummed! We had been waiting forever for this incredible opportunity, and at the last minute it fell through. We were still having the meeting, Elder Holland just wouldn't be there. We all thought "Who is the poor soul that needed Elder Holland more than 2000 missionaries?" So we went up to Phoenix area and ended up hearing from a member of the 70 named Elder Wright. He was awesome, said a lot of things that I needed to hear. His wife spoke a little before him and told us that the day before, Elder Wright had been at work. He was traveling to lunch with some work friends when he got the call that he was going to need to replace Elder Holland in the meeting. While he was talking, another one of his friends who is a member turned to the others and said "You probably aren't totally understanding this. This would be like buying tickets for a Beatles concert, spending weeks getting ready, traveling a long distance to see them, sitting down in the audience, and the Dixie Chicks walk out." hahaha she was hilarious. Something that she did say that really hit me was "it isn't the messenger, it is the message". So true though. Heavenly Father knows what we needed to hear, he just worked through a different messenger to get that message to us. I was really grateful for this experience, although it was a bummer, it was incredible.

2.) My talk: well... Sunday was my talk in church, the first talk I have ever given in all Spanish. It was hard. But such a testimony builder to me. Especially since I did not have as much time as I would have liked to prepare it, since we were so busy this week. But I did my best and hoped the Lord would help me with the rest. It was about missionary work and the importance of all of us working together in this work. I got up there and the moment I started, words just seemed to flow from my mouth. It wasn't like a crazy gift of tongues moment where i was using words I didn't even know, but everything I have learned just seemed to come to the surface and I was able to put it all together to get my point across. I felt the spirit so strong and, no surprise, even teared up a bit. But it felt so good, to realize I could do it. I know that the Lord helps us and is always with us and if we open our mouths, he will fill them.

3.) This is the final week of the transfer. Hermana Hale has a feeling she is going to be getting moved which I quickly shut down every time. No way!! I still have another 6 weeks of training. I hope she doesn't leave. She has been such an incredible trainer. So understanding and helpful. She knows just how to push me and I love her to bits! I know wherever she goes she will be awesome, but hopefully she gets to be awesome here for one more transfer!
Well I love you all!!! I promise to write more next week! Stay Strong!
love,
