Happy New Year! - Week 61

Wow! It has been so long since I talked to yall, about a year or so(; haha

So December 31 was a crazy day. We woke up and the sky was dark dark gray so we knew it was going to be stormy. Well, as we drove around, appointment after appointment fell through. No one was home, no one wanted to talk to us, it was rough. My emotions started off excited, then bummed, then totally down, and by the end we were both just laughing at how bad things had gone (I think we were losing it a little haha). Well later in the afternoon we had a meeting with our district and that really helped to pick up the mood. We talked about new years goals and how we were going to use our time left on our missions. We are all at pretty different points, some pretty new, some older, and some right in the middle, but it was great to share experiences and goals and to just get pumped for 2015. We had dinner that night with a family named the Betoncourts and they are awesome. So hilarious! It really lightened up the mood of the day. Hermana Flake and I were talking later on about how it was a bummer that it had been a hard day. But we decided that we just had to get out all the roughness before the new year started! haha It also snowed! We woke up the next day to a light dusting of snow on the cars! That rain was good for something(;

The next day we had MUD (mission unity day). All of the missionaries in the entire mission met together and we had a day of fun to kick off the new year. There were sports, games, snacks, a talent show, talking, laughter, just a ton of fun! At the end we had some pinatas and Hermana Aleman and I sang the pinata song. It was way fun! It was really just great though to be reminded that we are all in this together. Sometimes when we are knocking and getting doors slammed in our face, or no one is home, or an investigators drops us, it can feel really lonely. But because we were able to see just a small part of the giant army we are in, it was really motivating!

The next day was Mission Leadership Council and as usual it was incredible. I feel so blessed to be able to meet with the other leaders once a month and just have a spiritual feast! We were set up in the gym of the church building, but man alive it was freezing cold! Everyone, even the elders in suits who usually complain about it being hot during meetings, was shivering. I couldn't feel my toes for about half of it. But it kept us all alert and participating haha. This meeting was especially incredible though because President Passey trained on the power of the Atonement. Everyone seemed to forget about the cold during that time because we were just all so on fire from the spirit. It was such an incredible training. I felt so edified and uplifted, ready to go take on the world. I also found out that the Zone Leaders are going to have me train on the power of the Atonement for Zone Meeting. Wish me luck! I just hope that something I say can touch someone.

This week we are going to the temple and it will be my last trip as a missionary. I am so excited! 4 months isn't that long, but when life gets crazy and all you want is to go sit in the temple for a little bit, it feels like eternity. I am excited to go be edified and feel of the spirit so strongly!

Well, we are excited for this week! It is going to be a busy one, and busy ALWAYS equals interesting! Can't wait to share the miracles with yall!
Love you so much!

Love,
