Can't believe that another transfer has come and gone! The time is flying by so quick!
So this week was a bit scattered! We did a lot of traveling for Zone meeting and for exchanges with the sisters, but we also saw some pretty great miracles!
We had a few lessons with Mari this week. We taught her about the restoration of the gospel and she opened up a lot about her past experiences with religion and what she is going through in life right now. She is very confused in what she should be doing but her friend Tausha (who is a member) invited her to pray about what it is that God wants her to be doing with her life right now. It was awesome! Very spiritual. A few days later we met with her again and talked about the Book of Mormon. As we explained it she just kept saying "that makes so much sense." She was so stoked to start reading it. We asked her how her prayers have been going. She has been praying so hard and really counseling with the Lord in her life. One thing that she said is that it is hard for her right now because she has so many different people that she wants to please and she doesn't want to hurt anyone's feelings, but when does she get to be happy? I love how seriously she considers everything she does. She is such a loving selfless person, which is also hard at times. When it comes down to pleasing everyone else, there are some decisions that we must make to make ourselves happy. We invited her to sit down and put away all of the different sides she has in her life, to really just focus on her and God and to figure out what he needs her to be doing in her life. She is such a great girl and we are so excited to see what happens as she continues to pray and seek for the Lord's guidance.
We also had an awesome lesson with Mellow this week. She has not wanted to pray out loud for a while and we could never figure out why or what was holding her back. We met with her on Sunday after young women in excellence (yes she participated in that and it was AWESOME!) and talked with her about prayer a little bit. She expressed concerns on not saying the right thing or saying it wrong, etc. She likes to do her own personal prayers because she doesn't feel like she will be judged by anyone. We explained to her how important it is to talk with our Heavenly Father and how no matter what we say, He is always listening. We did the opening prayer and then shared a video about gratitude. At the end of the lesson she said, "okay, I will pray now." And it was the most beautiful prayer. We could tell that she was excited about it too! We hadn't been able to visit with her for a while so we had to drop her baptismal date for the 22. But she brought it up to us, asking when she could be baptized, and we set a new date for the 6th of December. She is stoked to get working towards that goal. We are so excited for her(:
Jaclyne and Eulises will both have their baptisms this Saturday! Oh man it is going to be a busy day but we cannot wait. Both of them are getting more and more excited as it comes closer. It is crazy to see the changes they have made, even in these short 6 weeks! I know that Saturday is going to be an incredible day for both of them. Heck, it is going to be an incredible day for us too! I love being able to see people make these changes in their lives. It is one of the greatest blessings of being a missionary! I love being able to visit people daily and be a part of their conversion process. I love to see how the Lord is hastening His work, and how He prepares people at the perfect time to meet the missionaries, to come to church, to learn and to change.
I hope that y'all can feel that changing, cleansing power of the gospel in your life this week. Whether you are not an LDS, whether you haven't been to church in a while, or whether you are heading right down that straight and narrow path, let it change you. Heavenly Father knows exactly who we can become and how we can become that person, we just need to pray to have our will aligned with His, so that we can see that potential we have as well, and know what we must do to reach it. I am so thankful for this time I have been given to clear my eyes, to work to see that potential in everyone. It is hard at times, but when we look at everyone as they truly are (including ourselves), as children of God, we will be able to make our way down that right path. I love y'all so much! Keep on keeping on!
Love,
