So on Sunday Jeff had his baptismal interview. It was the longest one I've had to wait for and it was killer! We were just sitting and waiting and wondering what was going on. But everything went awesome! A++ as Jeff says haha. He went and talked with President Arbizo after and is really pumped up. We have been able to see him a few times this week and each time he just goes on and on about how he cant wait to get baptized. It is so awesome to see! He has definitely had quite a few trials along the way, but he has really shown how true his desire to follow Christ is as he has pushed past them and kept his eye on the goal. We just cant wait for this Saturday and Sunday when he feels that feeling of being washed clean of sin and receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Sean also got his Patriarchal blessing on Sunday as we just awestruck by it. He has been having a few trials lately, so I think hearing all that is possible for him as he continues to work hard and be faithful really lifted him. We have really lately been able to see a difference in him. I know I say that every week, but after we met with him last night, we could see how changed and how much happier he is. I just love the gospel haha.
So yesterday we had the incredible opportunity to have a half mission conference with a member of the 2nd quorum of the seventy. His name is Elder Malm and he is from Sweden, so when I shook his hand, he read my name tag and was excited to see a Swedish name. The only downfall... I later got called on to share my thoughts on success as a missionary haha. It was a really incredible conference though. One theme that really struck me throughout was that of obedience and consecration. We talked about the difference between authority and power and it was explained that authority is to be "set apart" to do something, but the power comes when we are worthy and obedient. We have been called by God to be missionaries and have been set apart, thus we have the authority. But the power that we have depends on us and how hard we work and follow what we need to. I love having big missionary meetings because I always feel so renewed and re-excited for the work! I forgot my journal with all my notes at home so I will have to share them next week. But it was great!
Well, I am so happy to be here! I love being exactly where I am, with exactly who else is here! This is the greatest adventure of my life(: I love it! I hope that all of you are having a great week!
Challenge of the week: Ponder this quote by Ezra Taft Benson and see how you can apply it in your life. "...Not only would they die for the Lord, but most important they want to live for him."
Love you!
