This week was a good one for sure!! - Week 32

So last Sunday one of the members of the branch walked up to us in church and said "Hey I did my job I brought an investigator to church." And then introduced us to his step son named Sean. He is probably in his late 20s and seemed like a really nice guy. We talked to him after Sacrament meeting about coming over to visit him sometime and he seemed less than enthused but set up a time for Tuesday. So on Tuesday we went over to see him and were pretty skeptical about his desires to actually learn, or if he had just been dragged to church. We sat down and within the first 5 minutes of talking to him, he said "Yeah I've already asked Rudi (his step dad) to baptize me." We were both shocked! We asked him why he felt he needed to be baptized and he said he knew he was ready for a change in his life. So we have been visiting him everyday getting him ready for his baptism on July 5th! He has sat in on lessons with missionaries while his siblings were being taught but doesn't really remember much. He has never really been religious before so everything is pretty new to him but he is so willing to just learn and accept. He had a really cool experience praying about the Book of Mormon. He had been telling us that he believed it could be true and that he didn't think he needed to pray but he reassured him that he did. So he said he prayed one night and told Heavenly Father that he believes that this is the path he needs to be taking in life and that the Book is true. He asked Heavenly Father that if it was true, not to give him anything, but to bless his sister who was having a really rough time. The next morning she called and told him that she had finally found a job and a place to stay! It was awesome! What a way to get an answer(: His only problem was that he smokes, but the second time we came to meet with him, he had bought an electronic cigarette that is supposed to help you quit. We heard from some people that those are harder to quit and that he would be better off smoking cigarettes than that. We told him and a few days later he told us that he was done! On Saturday night it had been 2 days since he had smoked and he gave Rudi the electronic cigarette right in front of us. We are so excited for his desires to change and progress. He tells everyone that he meets about his baptism. We are still a little shocked in how this just seemed to fall out of no-where, but we are excited to continue working with him and helping him learn and change his life around to make some good choices and be a happier person!

We also had a really awesome lesson on Friday night with Maciel Hirsch! We talked about baptism and receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost and she really seemed to like it! She told us that her work schedule had just been changed and that she now has weekends off so she can come to church! She told us that she is really excited to come because she knows that once she does, she will be able to feel whether this is the path she needs to take or not. She also told us that she knows that the Book of Mormon is true. We are so stoked! She has been doing so good and we just love her so much! She came to the branch activity on Saturday and met a lot of the members and fit right in! Everyone loved her and she loved them! This Sunday she will be able to come to church for the first time and we can't wait for her to feel the spirit and know that it is the truth!

Can't believe that we are halfway through the transfer already! Time is flying! I love it so much though. I had so many experiences this week in which my testimony of the love Heavenly Father has for me was strengthened. I know that when we are obedient and work our hardest to do what he asks, that he will protect and bless us! I love being a missionary so much and am so grateful for all of you that support and love me! Stay strong and live what you believe!
