Que onda?! This week was crazy! So busy and lots to do, and to top it off... I got transferred! I am now serving in the Gila Valley area with Sister Blackford. So get this... Sister Blackford is from Bainbridge island and we will be going home at the same time! Crazy huh? We talked a little bit on facebook before we came out so we are way pumped to be working together now.
This area is HUGE! It takes about an hour and a half to drive from one end to the other. We are the only Spanish missionaries in the whole valley so there is a lot of work to be done! I am really excited that I have been able to stay in Spanish for at least three areas now! Since there are so many Spanish missionaries and not a ton of Spanish areas, Spanish called missionaries serve in some English areas during their mission. I've been lucky enough to stay in Spanish the whole time so far. Its going to be really good. Sister Blackford also knows a ton of Spanish so it will be really good to have someone like that who can help me! This transfer is going to be incredible!
I am really sad to leave South Zone though. It is the only completely Spanish missionary zone, so obviously it is the best. I had to say goodbye to a lot of really great missionaries that I wont be seeing for at least a year, so it was a sad moment. But on to another grand and glorious adventure!
So yesterday Hermana Smyth and I went around saying goodbye to a lot of people. It was about 7:30 at night and we were trying to get a hold of Lili because I really wanted to give her a hug and share my testimony with her. We called her and she told us that she has been sick for that past couple days, that is why we couldn't get a hold of her. Well I told her that I was leaving and she got so sad. She told me that she was so thankful she met me and that I was able to bring her to church. She promised me that she is going to read the book of Mormon and that she is going to keep going to church. She said " Voy continuar a asistir la iglesia! I promise I promise!" She even said that last part in English so she was really serious! I was about to start crying when she started telling me how grateful she is for me and that she wants me to write her letters and come visit her when I can. I love that lady so much and am so excited to hear how her progression continues in the church. A woman from the branch who got her number that Sunday has been talking a lot with her. I know that Lili is totally ready and I am so excited that I got to feel that enthusiasm and excitement from her.
So typical Arizona summer has started to set in. This week it hit 100 degrees at one point and has just been so stinking hot every other second. Don't worry though Dad, I have been protecting my Swedish skin haha. I have heard that Gila Valley is a little cooler so it will be nice to be here for the summer.
Well... sorry I don't have a ton more to say. I am just so scatter-brained after driving 4 hours to get here! love you all so much and I hope your week goes great! Cant wait to tell you about all my adventures this week!
Love,
Hermana Lundquist
