Hey Family! - Week 20

Love you all so much! Just wanted to let you know how thankful I am for all you do!
This week, like all the others, flew by! I cant believe we are halfway through this transfer and on the 30th I will have been out for 5 months...FIVE! That sickens me how fast the time is going.

We've been visiting Humberto and his kids Olivia and Raphael a lot and our relationship with them is just... incredible to me. Literally three weeks ago they hated us, and last night we went over and they were smiling and jumping around and just so happy to see us. They still don't talk to us, but Raphael put on this
Spiderman mask and let us take a picture with him. And Olivia made us these super cute little bracelets. It has been so incredible to see how their family life has gotten so much better, how much happier they all are and how much more blessed they have been. We have been helping Humberto read the Book of Mormon and he has been able to feel the difference since he started. And last night as we walked out to our car, Raphael ran to the door and yelled something. We couldn't tell if it was just him yelling or saying bye, but either way... HE MADE A SOUND! It may seem like nothing to everyone else, but to us, it was everything. These kids have had such a hard time with a lot of different, really crazy things, and to watch them open up has been such a miracle. We feel so blessed to be the ones that were able to help them.

This week we had a zone conference, which is where about three different zones in the mission come together and meet with President Killpack and the assistants. The whole thing was about teaching repentance. I learned so much. It was really an incredible, spirit building day. One of the things that
stuck out most is that repentance is always looked at as something scary or bad, that you have to do when you've made a big sin. But in reality, it should be something we are excited to have. We have the opportunity everyday to become better, cleaner, to come close to our Heavenly Father and to receive the spirit more in our life. It really hit me how I am not taking enough advantage of this incredible gift we have been given.

Well, I don't have much time left but I wanted to leave you with a challenge. This week, everyday morning and night that you pray, work on asking forgiveness for anything you've done. And if there is something that you need to go talk to your Bishop with, do it. Because the minute you start that repentance process, your life will be so incredible blessed. I know that this gift we have been given to be clean is not a small gift. Christ himself suffered and died so that we could make these small (and sometimes big) changes everyday. I love you all and want you to feel that happiness of being forgiven! So get to work(:

Love,
